Outage due to changes by service provider

16 January 2006

More downtime for resor.com in January. Changes by my long-term service provider to discontinue the static IP service I have used since 1997 caused the site to be unavailable form 3-Jan-2006 to 16-Jan-2006.

I will continune to use the same dial-up service provider for now, with an additional dynamic DNS service offered by another provider. However, I am thinking about more changes to make reasor.com more available and faster. Just need to find the time to set things up.

lightning strike takes out modem and more

12 November 2005

On Sunday 6-Nov-2005, a nearby lightning strike took out the dial-up modem connecting reasor.com server to the internet.

In addition to the modem, the cable splitter inside my house was damaged, affecting both my tv and high-speed internet service, and had to be replaced. Equipment was also repaired on a the pole outside my house before my service was finally restored.

I just got out to the store today 12-Nov-2005, to replace the modem. Overall, reasor.com was unavailable for about 6 days.

Looking for information on James Reasor (1814 – 1900)

23 July 2005

I am lokoing for information on James Reasor, born in Virginia around 1814. He married Margaret Painter. James passed away in 1900, and Margaret passed away in 1897.

James and Margaret had 13 children that I know of: Henry, Sarah, Jacob, Mary, William, Martha, David, Margaret V, Marilda?, Eliza, James F (my gg-grandfather), Susan and Jackson.

There is good information on these Reasor’s as well as others at http://www.ilgenweb.com/ especially under the Clark County section.

Any info would be greatly appreciated, and I’d be happy to share any info I have if it helps.

Thanks,

Jason

A legal affadavit in Texas lists Edwards children. I have his descendants on my web page. Would like any information about Mary Reasor. http://www.hal-pc.org/~berrys

realtive of Daniel Sheffy Reasor

28 January 2005

My name is Emma Bea Hobbs Stallings in Knoxville, Tn. Daniel Sheffy Reasor was my great grandfather on my mother’s side. Mother was Melissa Mae Reasor Hobbs, the daughter of John J. and Beatrice Reasor. Daniel Sheffy and Betsy Skaggs Reasor were Beatrice’s parents, and Peter Milton and Melissa Jones Reasor were John J.’s parents. I have a letter that Daniel Sheffy wrote when he was in the Civil War and was captured at Cumberland Gap and walked to prison in Ohio.

Also I have a picture of him in his uniform, but with a top hat. From his home in Deep Springs, I have the cherry drop-leaf dining room table and the cherry Jackson press that was his medicine chest, still with the wooden arm that held the scales. I have some other pieces of furniture from his home, and they’re very special to me. I’m proud of my Virginia antiques here in Tennessee. My e-mail is ebstall@aol.com.

Daniel Arden Reasor Tips the Scales!

24 July 2004

On Wednesday, June 16th, 2004, Daniel Arden Reasor joined the Gary, Kim, and Andrew Reasor family. He arrived at 4:43 pm, after being induced earlier that morning. Weighing in at 9 pounds 5 ounces and a length of 21 1/4 inches long, he tipped the Reasor family scales! (Previous top birth weight was Andrew at 8 pounds 14 ounces.) Everyone recovered from the birth quite well and Andrew and Daniel are getting along just great (well, I mean, I think Daniel likes to be poked in the face all the time?!).
